On seasons
And when Spring arrives
In a rich velvet lain carriage
The flowers bloom
And the birds sing
To welcome
The arrival of their dear queen
And when Summer arrives
In all its golden glory
Its purple velvet cloak
Drapes round its people
Warming their hearts with
Bliss and joy
And when Autumn arrives
Crowned with leaves of gold
The monsoon bellows its trumpet
And the faeries dance to
Usher their queen
To her magnificent throne
But when Winter arrives
Immaculately pure and white
Her icy cold touch
Freezes the hands of time
All is cold and still
Unmoved and unloved
Just like the dead soul of
My heart.
